Bandcamp Fundraiser

Iris and Ibrahin Moreno are friends of mine and respected community members, teachers, and musicians. I had the pleasure of working with them as a volunteer for several years at Centro Guadalupano in its Andale after-school program for Spanish-speaking elementary students in the Twin Cities to work on music, math, and English literacy. The closure of Centro last spring due to loss of funding was a huge heartbreak for myself and the community I love and took away an invaluable resource for so many kids and their families. It also lost Iris and Ibrahin a source of income.

This year, they have been unable to work as teachers in Minneapolis schools for almost five months due to unexpected pauses in their immigration process and the atmosphere of fear and uncertainty wrought by the illegal federal occupation by ICE/DHS in Minnesota. They could use our financial support for legal fees related to their immigration process as well as their living expenses.

50% of all proceeds from the sale of our debut album on Bandcamp from now until their goal is met will go to the GoFundMe for my friends Iris and Ibrahin. Please also feel free to donate directly to them as they could use all the support and love from the community that they have given so much to.
